Available to a global audience, the webinar – ‘Industry advances in pigging ‘unpiggable’ pipelines’ – will be presented by Senior Engineer, Rob Davies, and will give participants an understanding of how to overcome typical challenges associated with ‘unpiggable’ or challenging pipelines.
Rob Davies is a Chartered Senior Engineer with an in-depth knowledge of pigging and pipeline inspection. With significant experience in planning pigging and inspection campaigns, Rob has provided technical support and assurance for more than twenty pipeline cleaning and inspection campaigns across the UK and Norway in the last five years. This has included a number of previously unpigged and challenging lines for major operators.
Mr Davies said: “With many pipelines around the world not designed to be piggable, inspecting and assuring the integrity of these lines is a real issue for operators. This webinar will discuss these difficulties and the importance of pigging these challenging pipelines.
“Getting accurate data on the current condition of such pipelines is the primary concern. In-line inspection has evolved to become one of the principal means of re-validating pipeline integrity, particularly during late life, but is not always an obvious option for such pipelines. Furthermore, pigging offers one of the few physical activities that can be used to clean the pipeline and control corrosive environments.”
