The course covers the entire hydrogen value chain, from production methods to market integration, offering participants a deep dive into various hydrogen production techniques, including green, blue, and turquoise hydrogen, as well as advancements in electrolyser technology. 

The programme begins with an overview of hydrogen’s significance in reducing carbon emissions and its role in global, regional, and national energy strategies. Participants will explore the policies and financial frameworks driving the hydrogen economy, examining how different regions implement hydrogen strategies to meet sustainability goals. 

Day one focuses on introducing hydrogen’s importance and its strategic role in decarbonisation efforts. Participants will discuss the global context of hydrogen, including policy initiatives and economic drivers that are shaping the hydrogen landscape. 

On day two, the course delves into the upstream value chain, providing detailed insights into hydrogen production technologies. Sessions will cover the different methods of hydrogen production, including electrolysis for green hydrogen and the integration of Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS) for blue and turquoise hydrogen. Participants will explore the technical and economic aspects of these production methods, understanding the advantages and challenges associated with each. 

Day three shifts focus to the midstream value chain, examining hydrogen storage, transport, and distribution. Participants will learn about various storage technologies, including compressed gas, liquid hydrogen, and solid-state storage, as well as the infrastructure needed for pipeline transmission and hydrogen carriers. The module also includes a deep dive into hydrogen fuel cells, exploring their applications, technological developments, and market trends. 

Day four is dedicated to the downstream value chain, discussing the integration of hydrogen into existing markets and its role in various sectors such as transportation, industry, and power generation. Participants will analyse case studies and projects where hydrogen has been successfully implemented, gaining insights into the practical challenges and solutions encountered in these real-world applications. 

The final day focuses on future trends and the evolving landscape of the hydrogen economy.
