Jee courses contribute towards MTech degree

Jee is delighted to announce that delegates attending its courses are now able to earn academic credits, after completing university assessments, towards a Master of Technology (MTech) in Petroleum Technology from Curtin University of Technology (Perth, Australia).

The MTech offers a unique and flexible approach to gaining an academic qualification whilst working full-time in the oil and gas industry. The programme is workplace-based, online and can be completed by graduate engineers on a part-time basis from anywhere in the world.

With the addition of Jee’s subsea engineering courses to the MTech programme, delegates now have the added flexibility of earning up to 50% of the credits required to complete the MTech via short-duration courses and subsequent online assessment. The rest of the credits are obtained through workplace-based projects, monitored and assessed by Curtin University.

Commenting on the new partnership, Trevor Jee, Managing Director of Jee Limited said “Jee is delighted to be working with Curtin University and this adaptable course structure means that oil and gas industry engineers can fit their learning around their busy work life and important projects. Professor Martyn Ray, MTech Academic Course Director at Curtin University emphasised that ‘the MTech recognises the need for a part-time flexible Masters degree with assessments available online to be available for graduate engineers. The combination of workplace related assignments and projects linked to the industry-recognised courses provided by Jee will be truly beneficial to students’.
