About the role

Jee is looking for a senior engineer with 5 - 8 years’ experience of subsea pipeline design/construction/operations. We are looking for a long term addition to our team on a permanent or contract basis. Skills in related areas such as risers, subsea systems, structures, or umbilicals and controls would be an advantage. This is a technical, hands-on roles with an element of project engineering/management. We have a stream of challenging projects ranging from product development and deepwater analysis to trunk line design.

The post will be in London (Tonbridge) or Aberdeen (Westhill) to suit the candidate.

Technical work

The candidate will need to be capable of the following engineering work:
  • Establishing base data and methodology
  • Preparation of proposals and tenders, presenting to clients
  • Preparing and checking engineering calculations, particularly on Excel and Mathcad
  • Writing and checking reports and specifications, developing drawings
  • Consulting, problem solving, risk assessments, presentations
  • Inputting to and review of course presentations
  • Management of own time, small teams and client interface
  • Management of medium sized projects with client interface

Specialisations

The candidate will additionally offer one or more elements of specialisation
  • Analysis using software such as Mathcad, ABAQUS, Olga, or Orcaflex
  • Presenting Jee’s technical courses (10+ years’ engineering experience required)
  • Project engineering, project management, line management
  • Sales and customer relationship management

The interview process for technical staff
Our interview process for technical staff consists of three stages

First a technical interview conducted by two members of the senior management team.


Then successful interviewees are invited to spend a day in the office within two weeks of their interview, if possible. During this day they will be asked to complete some psychometric tests, undertake a piece of technical work and make a five minute technical presentation on a subject of their choice.
Lastly, if both sides are happy .... successful applicants will receive a job offer.
