Jee was asked by a multi-national North Sea operator to evaluate their stock of Pipeline Spares. The study would assess: what they have, what condition it is in, whether there is too much or too little stock, and whether any could be removed, being surplus to requirements.
- An assessment of current Spares aimed to assess the stock presently held and its condition. A series of site visits to storage yards were performed to accurately record the stock held and assess their condition.
- An assessment of future Spares then considered the Spares required as stock, by taking into account the likelihood of damage or failure occurring, the criticality of each pipeline and the ease of procurement of each type of pipeline component. Jee was able to draw upon experience in risk analysis and component procurement to offer the client clear guidance on what Spares to hold in the future.
- Jee was able to provide the necessary engineering to match up existing items to their assets, provide recommendations of which items to keep, and provide a strategy for preserving and maintaining items in the future. This offered benefits to the client by significantly reducing their expenditure on storing and maintaining spares.
