Jee was asked to produce a single Major Accident Prevention Document (MAPD) for two groups of pipelines in the North Sea. A MAPD is a document that is used to ensure that the operator has assessed all the risks associated with Major Accident Hazard Pipelines (MAHP) and ensures that there is an appropriate Safety Management System (SMS) in place.
The Pipeline Safety Regulations (PSR) state that an MAPD should ensure that:
- All hazards relating to the pipeline with the potential to cause a major accident have been identified
- The risks arising from these hazards have been evaluated
- The safety management system is adequate
- The operator has established adequate arrangements for audit and for making the reports thereof.
Jee has the relevant knowledge and expertise to create a new, or review an existing MAPD to ensure that it conforms to the latest legislative requirements and that all the potential risks to the pipelines have been considered. Jee has the ability to produce a document that captures all relevant legislative requirements and incorporates learnings from HSE guidance. This is produced in a readable and understandable format for use by all parties.
