Our client was undertaking the design for the extension of Colombo harbour in Sri Lanka. Part of the required work for this extension involved modifying the level of an existing pipeline in order to accommodate two dredged channels, providing deep-water access for vessels.
Jee provided support to the client with respect to the alterations to the pipeline. This support included the following:
- Feasibility assessment of lowering of the existing pipeline and installation of a new pipeline section
- Assessment of operational and construction implications
- Conceptual design and costing of the preferred option
- Preparation of the specification for input to the Invitation to Tender documentation
Jee integrated with the client’s civil engineering team on-site to provide cost-effective expert advice and input to the harbour development design.
