This collaboration, made possible through the Curtin University/Shell International MTech partnership, means that oil and gas industry engineers can gain an industry recognised qualification around their current project work.
What is the MTech?
The MTech is an online, part-time and
flexible workplace-based programme that allows graduate engineers
working in the oil and gas industry to gain a Masters Degree in
Petroleum Technology.
How does the MTech work?
The
degree is achieved through a combination of workplace-based projects
organised by Curtin University, and the attendance and subsequent
online assessment of selected Jee courses. The programme is part-time
and typically takes between 2 to 4 years to complete.
The MTech
degree requires completion of 200 credits, of which 100 credits will be
obtained by completing online Curtin University assessments after
attending selected Jee courses, and 100 credits are obtained from
Curtin University workplace-based projects. These projects are
monitored and assessed by Curtin University academic staff.
In summary: 100 credits from Jee courses + 100 credits from Curtin University workplace-based projects = MTech degree graduation
How does the Jee course accreditation work?
Delegates
attending MTech accredited Jee courses can apply for formal admission
to the Curtin University MTech programme. Once accepted into the
programme, they complete the Curtin University online assessment for
accredited Jee courses they have attended. Upon successful completion
of each assignment they earn 25 credits towards the MTech degree. A
maximum of 100 credits can be obtained via Jee’s courses and online
assessments.
